SummertimeSummertime

Saturday 11 June, 7.30pm

Following its sell-out success in July 2010, Cambridge Chorale is taking Summertime on tour. Come and enjoy a relaxed evening of choral classics in the magnificent setting of St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford. This enticing programme includes seasonal madrigals and partsongs, with wonderful examples of the genres from the likes of John Bennet (All Creatures Now), John Farmer (Fair Phyllis I Saw Sitting All Alone), Edward Elgar (As Torrents In Summer) and Charles Villiers Stanford (The Blue Bird).
Also featured are John Rutter’s superb Birthday Madrigals, which are guaranteed to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face! As if that wasn’t enough, the programme is topped off with a generous helping of fantastic vocal jazz arrangements including Chattanooga Choo-Choo, The Nearness Of You, Over The Rainbow and, of course, Summertime – all performed with Cambridge Chorale’s extraordinary versatility and panache.
